1. COVID-19: Dozens Of Coronavirus Cases Reported In 20 Nigerian States The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday night confirmed 221 new cases and 3 deaths of the dreaded Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
To date, 53, 021 cases have been confirmed, 40, 281 cases have been discharged and 1, 010 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
2. CAMA: Pastor Alu Disagrees With Bishop Oyedepo And Co-Travellers The General Overseer of The Bride Assembly Church, Lagos, Pastor Moses Alu has disagreed with Bishop David Oyedepo, the Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide over his advice to the Nigerian government to expunge the part of the newly-signed amended Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), 2020 that gives the supervising minister the power to remove the board of trustees of churches without recourse to the court.
The bill which was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on August 7, 2020, it was learnt, is expected to engender corporate legal innovations geared toward enhancing the ease of doing business in the country.

Forget About 2023 Presidential Elections, Primate Ayodele Tells Tinubu Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has warned the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to focus on his health and forget about 2023 presidential ambition.
He noted that Buhari won’t give enough support to the ex-Lagos Governor to realize his presidential ambition.
4. Police Gun Down Serial Killer In Ogun Feyisola Dosumu, notorious serial killer, aka Spartan, has been gunned down after a manhunt by a team of local vigilantes, Amotekun Corps, led by policemen attached to the Ogun State Police Command on Tuesday.
This was confirmed by the state’s Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun. Ajogun said that Dosunmu was shot when he tried to attack the police with a broken bottle and a cutlass.
5. Fani-Kayode Backpedals, Retracts His "Stupid" Comment The former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has retracted his "stupid" comment used on a Daily Trust reporter.
The former minister could be seen in footage lashing out at a Daily Trust correspondent, Eyo Charles, that asked him who was "bankrolling" his trips across states where projects are undertaken by governors under the umbrella of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), finishing off at Cross River State.
6. UNILAG Crisis: FG Inaugurates Visitation Panel, Warns Against Interference The Minister of Education Adamu Adamu has inaugurated a special visitation panel to investigate the current leadership crisis rocking the University of Lagos.
The panel which was inaugurated on Wednesday will be headed by Prof Tukur Sa’ad.
7. Buhari Berates Slow Pace of Justice Administration, Proposes 12 Month-Limit President Muhammadu Buhari has berated the slow pace of justice administration by Nigerian courts.
Buhari who expressed his displeasure on Wednesday during the 60th Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) suggested that the judiciary considers putting a 12-month time limit for the hearing of criminal cases from the high court to the Supreme Court, while all civil cases should be concluded within 15 months.
8. Basketballer Of Nigerian Descent, Giannis Antetokounmpo Wins 2019-20 NBA Defensive Player Of The Year Award The Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was born to Nigerian parents, has been named the 2019-20 Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year, the NBA announced on Wednesday.
This marks the first NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award for Antetokounmpo, 25, who finished in second place last season.
9. BBNaija 2020: Praise Counters Brighto's Claim About His Fiancee's Real Age Just evicted BBNaija housemate Praise has debunked Brighto's claims that his fiancee is over 60 years of age.
29-year-old Brighto while conversing with fellow housemate Kiddwaya claimed to know Praise's weak point and promised to tackle him, whenever an issue comes up.
10. Fire Outbreak At Access Bank Island Branch One Access Bank branch office has been engulfed by fire. The fire outbreak occurred at the branch located at Adetokunbo Ademola, Victoria Island, Lagos State, some minutes ago. The front of the building was engulfed by fire, but it's not known if there are casualties.
Access Bank is yet to officially react to the outbreak, but a video of the fire incident was captured by pedestrians around the building.
